When I started working on The Adventures of Toad webcomic, I was at one of the lowest points of my artistic career. I had no sense of direction and felt like simply giving up on a dream that I've spent almost my entire life pursuing. But somehow, in the midst of that darkness, I created what would become one of the most important projects of my life. Not because it was groundbreaking, not because I wanted to do it, but because I needed to. I needed something to keep my dreams alive, so I made Toad, for me.
Fast forward almost three and a half years later, and thanks to an amazing group of fans, we've been able to successfully fund two Kickstarter campaigns, print two full color books, and create nearly 90 pages of amphibian action. Toad has garnered a modest but extremely loyal fanbase, and the comic has become much more than I had ever imagined it might be. In the end, I made Toad for you.
And now, a new journey has begun. One that is both extremely exciting and yet somewhat bittersweet. At this time I can't go into any details beyond that I will be transitioning into focusing all of my efforts on a brand new series for print with the amazingly talented Donathin Frye. The series is called Rewind and follows the urban fantasy adventures of a young Shawnee woman named Grace. Rewind is set to be the next major milestone in my career, and I can't wait to see where it takes me. Alas, this means that for the time being, I must bid my amphibious friend Toad and his steadfast companion Mala, an indefinite adieu.
Hopefully one day I'll be able to return to the world of Delesea, but until then, onward and upwards. I'd like to thank everyone who helped propel this series forward from a personal rescue, to a personal success. I'll be leaving the webcomic intact, as is, for all time. I'll also continue to support any print orders that come my way (books 1 and 2 availble - email firstname.lastname@example.org). I'll also be continuing my work on the political cartoon Murica The Bootyfull with writer Jimmy Mak. In the meantime, I hope that you'll all continue to follow my work. Be sure to check me out on twitter for all the latest updates.
That's all. For now...
